This online course is designed to support healthcare workers to understand the importance of food safety in the workplace along with why nutrition and hydration is important for those they are supporting.

This course is designed to educate individuals on the importance of maintaining safe food handling practices, understanding the nutritional value of food, and staying hydrated. This course covers topics such as foodborne illnesses, proper food storage, balanced diets, and the benefits of drinking water. By completing this course, individuals can ensure that they are equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary to maintain a persons healthy lifestyle.

Learning Outcomes;

  • Understand the importance of food safety

  • Understand hazards in regards to food

  • Understand the importance of temperatures in regards to cooking and storage

  • Understand good hydration and nutrition 

  • To be able to identify a balanced diet

  • Understand the effects of poor nutrition

  • To understand how dignity can be maintained whilst promoting nutrition and hydration.
